Stunning pictures from Ambassadors of Africa “A” Students Project 2017!!!

On Thursday 30th May, the AOA hosted  selected schools from across Ondo State to a speech contest in AAUA. 

The schools had representative to speak on “Role of Education in National Development”

All people in attendant were in awe as these secondary school students did justice to the topic.

At the end of the contest, Community Comprehensive High School, Akungba Akoko emerged as the winner of the contest and went home all up with the first position.
Greater tomorrow International School, Arigidi Akoko, Ondo State went home with the second position while
Mount Camel Secondary School, Ikare Akoko came third in the contest.

Ignacy Lukasiewicz Scholarship Programme for Developing Countries (Apply Now)

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland and Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland announced recruitment to the Ignacy Lukasiewicz scholarship programme (2017/2018 edition).

Scholarships offered as a part of the programme include free 2nd degree studies conducted in Polish language (preceded by a year-long preparation course for taking up studies in Poland) and 3rd-degree studies conducted in public universities supervised by the minister responsible for higher education.

How to Apply:

2nd Degree Studies (Master Studies): The candidates are required to submit completed and signed questionnaire to Polish diplomatic posts, along with the following attachments:

  • Description of the proposed dissertation according to the following specifications: 1.5-2 A4 pages, font size 12, spacing 1.5; required elements of description include: proposal for a topic, problem and research method, detailed description of chapters);
  • A copy of the 1st degree studies graduation diploma with a supplement, in the absence of the form of1st degree studies in the higher education system of the country of origin – a copy of diploma ofMaster’s Degree or equivalent with a supplement or certificate of the marks obtained in the winter session in the final year of 1st degree studies or final year of Master’s degree or equivalent studies, and the planned date of completion;

  • Outline of the doctoral dissertation prepared in accordance with the following specifications: 4-5 A4 pages, font size 12, spacing 1.5; required elements of description include: proposal for a topic, research problem, the main hypothesis and research method, detailed description of chapters);
  • A copy of the Master’s degree graduation diploma (with a supplement) authorising to take up doctoral studies in the issuing country (not applicable to persons already studying in Poland);a document confirming admission by the university (or the promise of admission), in the mode provided for foreigners, to 3rd degree studies with the scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, stating that financial conditions will change when a foreigner does not obtain a scholarship (does not apply to persons already studying in Poland);
  • Opinions of two independent academics (Prof. or PhD), including at least one from Poland);
  • A curriculum vitae with a covering letter;
  • A copy of health certificate (it does not concern to people already studying in Poland);
  • A copy of passport;
  • A copy of the document authorizing to the stay on the Polish territory (for people already studying in Poland or holding a valid visa).

Ministry of Finance, Government of Japan is offering Global Development Awards Competition to pursue research. Applicants from low and middle-income countries are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.

The Awards Competition recognizes excellence in policy-oriented research, supports research capacity development of researchers in developing countries and funds innovative social development projects benefiting marginalized groups in the developing world.

The GDN Global Research Agenda is a central piece of GDN’s new strategy for three main reasons. First, the global research agenda plays the crucial role of providing the organization with a common intellectual ground on which to structure its capacity building activities as distinct parts of an articulated and cohesive whole. Second, prioritizing and fixing a global research agenda is a cost-effective way to harmonize programs, to articulate portfolio elements, and to secure the building up of a stock of knowledge in a predefined set of priority development themes across the developing world.

  • The MIDP Award is open to all development projects being implemented in low-income countries and lower-middle-income countries.
  • The project must be managed by a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with its headquarters in one of the above eligible countries. The NGO must be non-profit.
  • The project implementation must have started before 01June, 2016.
  • Submissions concerning a recently started project or only a project idea or a feasibility or baseline study will not be considered.
  • Submissions for funding conferences (either in part or in full) will not be considered.
  • Applicants from previous years (except winners) may re-apply, but they must update the application to include new aspects of the project.
  • Previous MIDP winners are not eligible to apply.

Cardiff University is offering Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships worth over £2M, offer funding awards to international students for the year 2017. Scholarships are available to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate taught levels of study.

The overreaching aim of establishing the Cardiff University was to transform the public higher education to improve quality and efficiency of teaching and learning, creating a world-class higher learning institution.

Cardiff is established as one of Britain’s leading universities. Its ambition is to be among the top 100 universities in the world and top 20 in the UK.

  • Postgraduate applicants – Conditional offer holders
    You must meet, or exceed, the University’s standard requirement set for your programme. Our standard course requirements can be found online. You must accept your offer and meet all the offer conditions, including any deposit deadline stated in your offer letter, by 31 August 2017. Applicants who do not meet the stated requirements will not be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, even if you are accepted into the University.
  • Postgraduate applicants – Unconditional offer holders

Applicants are now invited to apply a number of scholarships at National University of Singapore. Each of those scholarships available for certain citizen as listed as follow:

  • NUSS – Della & Seng Gee UTown Scholarship for all nationalities
  • Steve Appleton-Micron Scholarship for Singaporeans and PR in 3rd and 4th Year from Electrical, Computer, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Tembusu Partners Scholarship Tembusu College Only. Preferably Singapore Citizens
  • The Ngee Ann Kongsi Scholarship forbSingapore Citizens and Permanent Residents
  • Tin Ka Ping Foundation Scholarship $10,000 Citizens of the People’s Republic of China

Award Value
Those scholarships provides up to $10,000 to each of the scholarship recipients.

Level and Area of Studies
Undergraduate degree in all subjects offered by the host institution.

HLAF Scholarship in Science and Technology 2017

Offers are up for the Human Life Advancement Foundation Science & Technology Scholarship available for  International PhD and Postdoctoral students . The HLAF scholarship will support any studies related to innovation and technology that can be taken worldwide well known institutions.

The successful applicants may expect to receive up to USD 15,000 per annum for PhD students and up to USD 35,000 per annum for Postdoctoral researchers. The annual deadline is 15th June every year.

Scholarship Description
The Human Life Advancement Foundation (HLAF) in Malaysia has main mission which is to develop networks of organizations and individuals able and willing to contribute to the needs of society, as well as in the development of internationally competent individuals. HLAF aspires to become a reference point for creation of knowledge, innovations and technology transfer related issues in developing countries. Scholarship Value
The winners this scholarship will receive award valued depending on the type of study, as determined by HLAF. The Scholarship value will be up to USD 15,000 per annum for PhD students and up to USD 35,000 per annum for Postdoctoral researchers.

Eligibility and Criteria
Both male and female candidates from all countries are welcome to apply this scholarship. The following are the compulsory criteria of the candidates:

  • Maximum age: 30 years for postgraduate student at PhD level or 35years for postdoctoral researchers
  • Have received acceptance (offer) letter to pursue PhD/Postdoctoral at recognized universities before final decision on scholarship is taken.
  • In excellent health condition and certified by a Certified Doctor/Medical Professional. The cost of medical examination is to be borne by the applicants
  • All applicants should have a score of at least 550 in TOEFL or 6.0 points in IELTS or score a band 4 in MUET or excellent result in other relevant English test that is accepted by the university and equivalent to the tests mentioned above.
  • Minimum Academic Achievement: Strong academic record and excellent academic references.

Asian American / Asian Research Institute (AAARI) is delighted to offer the “AAARI Scholarship. All undergraduate students who are currently enrolled CUNY are eligible to apply for the Thomas Tam Scholarship. CUNY provides research opportunities for students on Asian American and Asian affairs.

The Tam Scholarship awards $1,000 to an individual qualified undergraduate student.The Asian American / Asian Research Institute (AAARI) was established on November 19, 2001, by The City University of New York (CUNY) Board of Trustees. The Institute is a university-wide scholarly research and resource center that focuses on policies and issues that affect Asians and Asian Americans. It covers four areas: Asian American Studies; East Asian Studies; South Asian Studies; and Trade & Technology StudiesEligibility:

All currently enrolled CUNY undergraduate students are eligible to apply for the Thomas Tam Scholarship.

There are some issues you should be addressed in your application for the Tam Scholarship. Please be sure to cover all of the points in your application.

  • Please explain how your project demonstrates creativity in communicating the concerns of Asian Americans.
  • What are the objectives or goals of the project, i.e. what do you want to accomplish, or what impact or effect will it have? How will you know that it has been successful?
  • How was the project implemented, or if in progress or a future project, please describe how it will be implemented?
  • Is the project completed, is it in progress or is it a future project?
